I am not really a fan of writing; I’m more into reading blogs than writing them. It even took me two weeks to finally have the time to write down my notes on why I wanted to join the the 1st WordCamp Philippines 2008
It’s not really the lack of interest, its more on time management and I’m really working on that ( keeping my fingers crossed ). Working on the very dynamic and ever changing world of SEO for almost four years that’s what you’ll be, always cramming around and hoping that the next update wouldn’t hurt that much.
Sometimes I would joke that telepathy and witch craft are the only things that you need to be successful in SEO. If you can predict the future outcome of every update and reverse engineer the spell casted by SE’s ranking algorithm then you don’t have to worry about anything…:)
Well going back to the real purpose of this post, the main reason why I really wanted to join the WordCamp is because of my work. I have been working as an SEO for almost 4 years now and it’s quite unusual for someone with an established foundation for this industry to let go of the opportunity to attend this ground breaking and historical event.
But more on that, I also see this affair as a chance for people in the industry to share ideas and learn from each other, an event wherein we can collaborate on a much bigger level.
This is something that can provide us not just additional knowledge but additional exposure as well. With this event we are making a mark in the international scene, letting the entire world know that we Filipinos have what it takes to succeed in this industry.
